Position Summary:
The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) plays a crucial role in delivering a wide array of speech-language pathology services. This includes conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and implementing therapeutic interventions within a collaborative interdisciplinary framework, adhering to professional standards and ethical guidelines.
Licenses and Certifications:
It is essential to possess and maintain a valid state SLP license. A Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is preferred or required. Current CPR certification is also preferred.
Educational Requirements:
A Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited institution is required.
Experience: 0-1 years
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Assess patients to identify disorders related to speech, language, voice, and swallowing through clinical evaluations, standardized assessments, and patient interviews.
- Create and execute personalized therapy plans based on assessment results, establishing measurable objectives to meet the unique needs of each patient.
- Deliver therapeutic interventions aimed at enhancing patients' communication abilities, including articulation, language understanding, voice control, fluency, and feeding skills.
- Inform patients and their families about the nature of disorders, therapeutic methods, and strategies to facilitate progress and improve communication and swallowing in everyday situations.
- Maintain thorough and current documentation of patient assessments, progress reports, and treatment plans in accordance with facility policies and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure holistic patient care.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
