Floor Maintenance Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Floor Crew member to join our team at Atrium Health. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Supply clean linen to all units and departments, collecting soiled linen, trash, and regulated waste from holding areas.
- Vacuum, dust mop, and wet mop corridors, elevators, cafeteria, and public areas.
- Extract and spot clean carpets using approved systems, and mop, strip, burnish, buff, and refinish hard surface floors.
- Clean elevators and elevator tracks, windows, walls, shower tile, and other assigned areas.
- Assist in cleaning patient rooms, offices, and therapy areas, and change out and rehang cubicle curtains as needed.
- Replenish housekeeping supplies, move furniture, set up special functions, and report to manager or supervisor daily to receive assigned projects.
- Transfer linen to all departments in a timely manner and sort unused clean linen for restocking.
Physical Requirements
This role requires prolonged periods of walking, standing, and lifting materials, equipment, and furniture weighing up to 75 pounds. You must be able to hear and comprehend instructions, have visual acuity to operate equipment, mix chemicals, and inspect surfaces, and possess motor skills to operate equipment and move materials through heavily traveled or confined spaces.
Education, Experience, and Certifications
A High School Diploma or GED is preferred. We are committed to providing a safe and healthy work environment, and all applicants for this position are required to undergo a physical ability test as a condition of employment.
