Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Athletic Trainer Sports Medicine Outreach Specialist to join our team at Children's Health. The successful candidate will provide athletic training services to athletes under the direction of the team physician or written referral from a physician, and in accordance with state athletic training practice act.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the healthcare and safety of athletes, including first aid/emergency care, on-site injury evaluation, application of appropriate modalities, development of rehabilitation and injury-risk reduction programs, and conducting rehabilitation and making medical referrals.
  • Demonstrate good communication skills with athletes, athletic directors, coaches, physicians, and parents regarding athlete's playing status and ability to return to competition.
  • Maintain a complete and up-to-date roster of athlete health and participation records in the electronic medical record system.

Requirements:

  • Preferred: At least 2 years of job-related experience.
  • Required: Four-year bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred: NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainer.
  • Required: Licensed in State of Texas as an Athletic Trainer Upon Hire.
  • Required: BLS/CPR through the American Heart Association Upon Hire.
