We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team at Northeast Georgia Health System, Inc. in Gainesville. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Perform initial patient assessments, document findings, and implement physicians' orders
- Establish immediate plans of care for patients in collaboration with physicians, document referrals, and log patient information
- Administer and document medication regimes, identify and implement infection control processes
- Perform radiological or lab procedures, provide radiation protection, and document QA controls and maintenance on x-ray equipment
- Document lab and radiology results, answer telephones, and assist patients with triaging calls
- File patient charts, record daily visits and charges accurately, and lead responsibilities such as monitoring patient flow and inventory needs
- Active Registry or Certification as a Medical Assistant required, Current BLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire
- High School Diploma or GED, One (1) to two (2) years related experience, experience as a lab tech or with radiology equipment preferred
- Weight Lifted: Up to 50 lbs, Occasionally 0-30% of time
- Weight Carried: Up to 20 lbs, Occasionally 0-30% of time
- Vision: Moderate, Frequently 31-65% of time
- Kneeling/Stooping/Bending: Frequently 31-65%
- Standing/Walking: Frequently 31-65%
- Pushing/Pulling: Frequently 31-65%
- Intensity of Work: Occasionally 0-30%
