Mechanical Lead Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Lead Engineer to join our team at PAE Consulting. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading project teams and managing project discipline to ensure timely and budget-friendly completion. Your expertise in mechanical system design, HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and energy modeling will be essential in delivering high-quality projects.
Key Responsibilities- Project team leadership and discipline project management
- Preparation of deliverable documents, including narratives, calculations, drawings, and specifications
- Attending client meetings and leading coordination efforts between external and internal project teams
- Independently evaluating and applying engineering judgment, techniques, and procedures to complete projects from concepts through construction
- Utilizing proficiency in mechanical system design, HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and energy modeling
- Assembling effective project teams and inspiring and motivating staff
- Overseeing engineering calculations and equipment selection
- Performing site visits and issuing reports
- Providing training, guidance, and development for staff
- Writing specifications and providing updates to master specifications and standards, and improving company processes
- Developing client relationships
- Participating on firm leadership committees
- Overseeing the application of the project quality management plan (QMP)
- May be responsible as the Engineer of Record (EOR)
- Serving as a technical resource for the company
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering for discipline work
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred
- LEED accreditation preferred
- Requires a minimum of 2-4 years Mechanical 3, or 5-10 years' related work experience
- Thorough understanding of interdisciplinary coordination
- Advanced understanding of the application of building codes and mechanical industry standards
- Advanced understanding of mechanical engineering concepts, able to effectively communicate design options
- Able to assemble and run a team
- Strong delegation skills
- Attention to detail and advanced organizational skills
- Thorough understanding of AutoCAD/Revit, Microsoft Office Suite
- Hiring Base Salary Range: $87,000 - $119,700 annually
- This position is eligible for straight overtime pay
- The base salary is one component of PAE's competitive compensation package for employees
- We take into consideration a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, internal equity, and geographic location in determining exact salary offered
- At PAE, roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases and annual bonuses based on individual performance
- The above range represents PAE's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting
