Position Summary
The National Service Estimator will be instrumental in assessing project needs, estimating costs, and formulating precise bids for commercial roofing initiatives. This role requires a strong understanding of roofing systems, materials, and construction practices, along with analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Evaluation:
- Analyze project specifications and drawings to understand the scope of work.
- Conduct site evaluations to assess existing conditions and identify roofing requirements.
- Work with the sales team to clarify project requirements and client expectations.
- Identify risks and opportunities related to project estimation.
- Review subcontractor proposals for accuracy and completeness.
- Estimate material quantities, labor, and equipment needs based on project specifications.
- Utilize estimating software and historical data to create competitive cost estimates.
- Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to gather accurate pricing.
- Prepare detailed project proposals with cost breakdowns and timelines.
- Present proposals to clients, addressing any inquiries.
- Work with project management to align estimates with execution plans.
- Provide accurate information to support project planning.
- Communicate with subcontractors and suppliers to clarify specifications.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through value engineering.
- Monitor project costs and propose strategies for budget adherence.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of estimating experience in the commercial roofing or construction sector.
- Strong knowledge of roofing systems and installation techniques.

- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
