Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and empathetic Special Education Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing individualized instruction, support, and accommodations to students with disabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities, in collaboration with families, general education teachers, and support staff.
- Design and deliver differentiated instruction to meet the unique learning needs of students with disabilities across various grade levels and content areas.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies, technologies, and materials to engage students and facilitate learning in inclusive classroom settings.
- Assess student progress, monitor growth, and adjust instructional strategies as needed to ensure academic achievement and skill development.
- Collaborate with colleagues, including special education team members, related service providers, and administrators, to develop and implement effective interventions and support plans.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with students, families, and stakeholders, and communicate regularly to provide progress updates and solicit input.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in special education practices, instructional methodologies, and relevant laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Special Education from an accredited institution.
- Valid Nebraska Teaching Certificate with an endorsement in Special Education (K-12).
- Previous experience working as a Special Education Teacher in a school or educational setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices in assessment, instruction, and intervention.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in education.
