Kitchen Steward Job Description

The Kitchen Steward is a vital member of our Food and Beverage team at The Rose Gaming Resort. This role is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and organization in our kitchen, ensuring that all equipment, china, silverware, glassware, pots, pans, and work areas are spotless and well-maintained.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cleaning and Sanitizing: Clean and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, flatware, and glassware to the highest standards.
  • Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain the cleanliness of our kitchen, including dry storage and walk-in coolers, to ensure a safe and healthy environment for our staff and guests.
  • Waste Management: Empty kitchen trash receptacles and properly dispose of garbage to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Daily Cleaning Tasks: Perform daily cleaning tasks in the kitchen, including sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting surfaces.
  • Safe Work Practices: Incorporate safe work practices into job performance, including the use of approved chemicals and equipment.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Break down all kitchen equipment for cleaning using approved chemicals by the company.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Comply with all department and company rules, regulations, policies, procedures, internal controls, and government rules and regulations.
  • Supply Replenishment: Replenish supplies with clean ware to maintain a well-stocked and organized kitchen.
  • Other Duties: Perform all duties in a safe and careful manner and complete other tasks as assigned by management.
Regulatory and Compliance Responsibilities:
  • Training and Licensing: Attend required training sessions offered by the company and obtain and retain required licenses.
  • Compliance with Laws and Regulations: Perform duties in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Minors and Gaming Areas: Ensure that minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gaming areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
  • Knowledge of Ordinances and Regulations: Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the Team Member's department.
  • Problem Gaming Programs: Have knowledge of the Property's programs to address problem gaming.
  • Reporting Wrongdoing: Report any acts of wrongdoing of which the Team Member may have knowledge.
Education, Training, and Experience:
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to stand for longer than 8 hours and lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
