Responsibilities

  1. Prepare investigational doses by reading the datasheet, following protocol directions, and documenting thoroughly on the investigational card for each drug. Ask for assistance from a pharmacist if needed.

  2. Demonstrate strong math skills for pharmacy calculations.

  3. Manage time efficiently by maintaining high productivity.

  4. Demonstrate system proficiency, including BD Cato, Phacts, One Connect, and control access cabinets.

  5. Manage inventory through the supply chain.

Inventory Management

  1. Monitor key inventory parameters to evaluate inventory usage, including stock levels, shortages, and recalls. Take appropriate actions and make inventory adjustments as needed.

  2. Develop, implement, and document procedures related to receiving, shipping, transfers, returns of inventory, physical counts, ongoing cycle counts, and loss prevention.

  3. Coordinate with suppliers for acquisition and distribution of drugs/supplies, identified as supply problems. Communicate drug availability to staff.

  4. Communicate with other inventory areas to minimize waste.

  5. Maintain inventory security within the pharmacy area and monitor for appropriate use of all institutional resources.

  6. Approach problems with curiosity and open-mindedness; offer new ideas, solutions, and/or options.

  7. Follow standard operating procedures/safety standards (USP 797/800, NIOSH) when handling and wasting of hazardous drugs. Report and document chemotherapy spills.

  8. Complete pump assignments, including replenishment, returns, cleaning, and periodic maintenance (PM) monitoring (within 95% compliance).

  9. Restock, load, unload, and outdate automated dispensing cabinet inventory consistently and accurately.

  10. Provide floor stock inventory as needed.

IV Preparation
  1. Follow standard operating procedures/safety standards (USP 797/800/NIOSH) when handling, preparing, and waste disposal of hazardous drugs. Report and document chemotherapy spills.
Daily Operational Duties

  1. Equipment maintenance, including BSC cleaning, stocking supplies, pump retrieval, scheduled QA assignments, cleaning of IV rooms and ante-room, inventory ordering, pyxis support as needed, and water bath and baxa repeater pump cleaning.

  2. Demonstrate technical proficiency and problem-solving of carousel software, automated dispensing cabinets, BD CATO, OneConnect, procurement software, label printers, and refrigerator monitoring, and other systems as needed.

  3. Successfully complete annual process validations as appropriate.

  4. Complete and maintain Tech-Check-Tech certification program as applicable.

Work Schedule Responsibilities

  1. Optimize patient care and customer service by fulfilling all required operational responsibilities, including staffing beyond shift as needed to complete all team assignments.

  2. Ability to flex schedule across areas and shifts based on operational needs.
