Role Summary

As the Retail Food Service Director, you will oversee the effective operation of Food & Nutrition Services, reporting directly to the Director of Dining Services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and coordinate special events, ensuring adherence to cash controls, payroll records, and the recruitment and training of hourly team members.
  • Promote customer satisfaction and maintain positive public relations through efficient resource management.
  • Guide staff to deliver scheduled retail services in alignment with corporate policies and presentation standards.
  • Train team members in customer service, portion control, cashiering, and safety/sanitation protocols.
  • Complete all required reports in accordance with corporate policies and procedures, meeting established deadlines.
  • Facilitate effective communication with team members, patients, and families.
  • Implement and uphold cash handling standards as per the Corporate Policies and Procedures Manual to prevent theft of services or company funds.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • B.S. Degree in Food Services Technology/Management or a related field; or A.A. Degree with three years of relevant experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience in retail operational foodservice management, depending on educational background.
  • Strong understanding of food and catering trends, focusing on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, marketing, and presentation.
  • Experience with P&L accountability and contract-managed services is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with cash retail operations.
  • Desirable experience in retail marketing.
  • Demonstrated supervisory, leadership, management, and coaching skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to engage with various stakeholders, including management, customers, and associates.
  • Knowledge of financial, budgetary, accounting, and computational practices.
  • Proficient in various computer applications, including Microsoft Office, email, and internet usage.
