Overview:

The primary objective of this role is to diagnose, repair, and maintain various types of heavy mobile and automotive machinery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducts comprehensive mechanical work on heavy mobile equipment, including identifying malfunctions, assessing repair needs, and executing necessary repairs.
  • Performs automotive repair tasks, troubleshooting issues, determining repair requirements, and maintaining vehicle functionality.
  • Employs diagnostic instruments, manages parts procurement, completes necessary documentation, and offers training and support to team members.
  • Adheres to safety protocols and regulations, ensuring a secure and organized work environment.
Qualifications:

To be eligible for this position, candidates must demonstrate the required level of experience as outlined in the relevant qualification standards.

While specific experience duration is not mandated for most positions, applicants must meet any outlined screen-out criteria and exhibit through their background that they possess the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the role effectively.

Essential Skills:

Your qualifications will be assessed based on your proficiency in the following areas:

  1. Understanding of various heavy and light vehicles and equipment sufficient to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain systems and components.
  2. Knowledge of safety standards and environmental regulations regarding hazardous material handling.
  3. Expertise in diagnosing and repairing issues in diverse heavy and light vehicles and equipment.
  4. Proficiency in utilizing a range of hand and power tools, measuring devices, and diagnostic testing equipment.
  5. Ability to interpret and apply technical manuals, schematics, and safety guidelines to effectively maintain and repair equipment.
  6. Strong communication skills, with the ability to train others and maintain accurate records.
Physical Requirements:

This position involves working in physically demanding conditions, often requiring prolonged periods in uncomfortable positions. Tasks may include working in confined spaces and frequent lifting of components weighing up to 40 pounds.

Work Environment:

Typically, work is conducted indoors on concrete surfaces, with exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels. Outdoor work may also be required, subjecting the employee to weather conditions and potential irritants.

All safety measures must be followed, including the use of protective gear such as hard hats, gloves, and safety shoes.
