Job DescriptionPulmonary Allergy Critical Care Medicine Department

Our practice is located at Cooley Dickinson Hospital's Respiratory Services and Cardiopulmonary Rehab departments, where we have combined experience and expertise to diagnose, treat, and manage:

  • Asthma—spirometry evaluation, FeNO (fractional exhaled nitric oxide) testing, assessment of asthma control, and tailored asthma education
  • Allergies—skin testing as well as allergen, venom, and drug desensitization
  • COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder)—pulmonary function testing and interpretation, home oxygen assessments
  • Pulmonary Nodules—symptom evaluation (FeNO and fiberoptic laryngoscopy), bronchoscopy
  • Pleural Effusions—thoracentesis
  • Symptoms—evaluation of symptoms including chronic cough, shortness of breath, and lung cancer screening
Responsibilities

This role involves ensuring efficient patient flow through the office, assisting during office visits (rooming, examinations, point-of-care testing, immunizations, procedures, and treatments as directed), performing clinically appropriate tasks related to patient panel management (phone calls, test results, prescription refills, coordination of care, etc.), maintaining neat, clean, and safe patient care areas, and interacting with patients and their families in a professional, friendly manner consistent with their needs.

Requirements

This position requires a High School diploma/GED, either BLS or Annual Manikin training including CPR and AED after 6 months of hire, strong preference for Medical Assistant Course or diploma program or a minimum of 1 year professional experience, National MA Certification via AAMA, AMT, NHA, or NCCT, and pulmonary, allergy, or critical care specialty experience preferred.

Estimated Salary Range

The estimated salary range for this position is between $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. In addition to the base salary, we offer a generous sign-on bonus of $750.00 to welcome you to our team.
