This position will lead a team of application support specialists to ensure the stability, scalability, and security of both on-premises and cloud-based applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess new applications, systems software, products, and enhancements to existing applications to ensure alignment with organizational goals and business unit requirements.
- Supervise the design, deployment, and upkeep of on-premises and cloud-based enterprise applications and their upgrades to guarantee high availability and performance.
- Collaborate with business and system analyst teams to create technical solutions for applications and their environments that fulfill business and technical specifications throughout all lifecycle phases.
- Lead a team of IT application support professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance assessments.
- Monitor and uphold the availability, performance, security, and cost-effectiveness of application environments.
- Conduct regular evaluations and audits to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
- Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and assess new technologies for potential implementation.
- Ensure effective incident response and problem resolution for various application issues within service level agreements.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends, integrating relevant advancements into the organization's application strategies.
- Maintain thorough documentation for supported application environments, including configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Develop and manage the budget for application services, ensuring cost-effective solutions and resource allocation.
- Provide training and development opportunities for the applications support team to enhance their expertise in core banking and related applications.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with the organization's application environments, including disaster recovery strategies. Develop and maintain strategies for on-premises and cloud applications and their disaster recovery in collaboration with other technology areas and business stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- 7-9 years of experience in Information Technology, including managing, designing, and deploying medium to large-scale on-premises and cloud applications, with 1-3 years in a management role.
- Proven experience in managing application environments with a strong understanding of both on-premises and cloud environments.
- Extensive knowledge of core banking platforms and cloud platforms, including Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offerings.
- Experience with virtualization technologies, databases, and n-tier application network architecture.
- Strong technical leadership and team management skills, preferably in the financial sector.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities, with the capacity to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
- Strong IT service management and project management skills, with the ability to plan, execute, and oversee IT projects within scope, budget, and timeline.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle, IT service management, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Ability to function in a business office environment and utilize standard office equipment.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
- Occasional travel may be required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Familiarity with specific core application stacks and related technologies.
