Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Classroom Support Specialist to join our team at Leman Academy of Excellence. As an Instructional Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting teachers in instructing scholars using the classical model of learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support teachers in creating a positive and productive learning environment
  • Assist with lesson planning, preparation, and implementation
  • Provide individualized support to scholars, including reading and math support
  • Supervise scholars in hallways, during drop-off, lunch, and pick-up
  • Administer formative assessments and assignments as directed by the classroom teacher
  • Maintain accurate and complete scholar records
  • Prepare scholars for later grades by encouraging them to explore learning opportunities and to persevere with challenging tasks
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • An Associate's or higher degree or at least two years of study at an institution of higher education (60 completed credit hours)
  • Passing score on skills assessment (ParaPro)
  • AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card / Background and Criminal History Clearance
  • First Aid and CPR Certification
