Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Production Associate to join our team at Volks Resources in Birmingham, AL.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment and be able to read, comprehend, and follow written and oral instructions in English.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing weigh-up or packaging duties within the production department, ensuring the highest quality product at the lowest possible cost and meeting customer specifications and delivery requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follows and complies with all safety, work rules, and regulations.
  • Sets up and starts all secondary operations within the manufacturing area.
  • Accurately supplies and supports production operators with appropriate materials and functions.
  • Performs all required machine cleaning and examines materials visually or physically to ensure conformance with established standards.
  • Completes and maintains required paperwork and documents.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a pultrusion manufacturing facility or related manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Must be able to read, comprehend, and follow written and oral instructions in English.
  • Must have mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide and the ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate one-on-one and in small group situations.

Working Environment:

  • The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, talk, and/or hear.
  • Occasionally required to sit.
