As a Cybersecurity Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the organization by managing risks, ensuring compliance with audits, and continuously enhancing the security framework in response to evolving regulations and threats. Your expertise will enable you to convert security standards and regulatory requirements into actionable software product functionalities, cloud infrastructure designs, and operational methodologies. You will conduct regular internal evaluations and collaborate with external auditors to support compliance efforts, while working alongside internal stakeholders to strengthen and refine internal controls. Additionally, you will oversee risk management processes and partner with various leaders to identify potential risks, presenting these findings to executive management.

Your responsibilities will also include developing and maintaining documentation related to data flows, privacy policies, and associated procedures to guarantee adherence to data privacy laws. You will ensure effective knowledge management regarding company processes, security specifics, and product features to facilitate prompt responses to external evaluations of Zenoss.

This role is ideal for a driven professional with a strong interest in technology, security, and compliance auditing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Formulate, execute, and uphold security policies and protocols to protect company assets and sensitive information.
  • Perform routine security evaluations and audits to detect vulnerabilities and propose remedial actions.
  • Monitor security incidents and respond promptly to mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to embed security best practices throughout our development, operations, and product lifecycle.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and emerging threats, recommending proactive strategies to bolster our security posture.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with security standards.
  • Work closely with the Chief Information Security Officer to further develop and enhance the organization's security framework.
  • Communicate the Zenoss security initiative to both potential and existing clients.
  • Establish metrics to measure program success for presentation to senior management.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in information security, ideally within a technology or software development context.
  • Comprehensive understanding of security principles, standards, and best practices.
  • Familiarity with security tools and technologies such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint protection solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CompTIA Security+ are advantageous but not mandatory.
