Tow and Light Service Driver Job Description

We're seeking a skilled and customer-focused Tow and Light Service Driver to join our team at the American Automobile Association. As a Tow and Light Service Driver, you will be responsible for providing exceptional roadside assistance to our members, ensuring their safety and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive and operate a service vehicle to respond to roadside emergencies, including flat tire changes, lock-outs, and fuel delivery services.
  • Interact with customers, establish rapport, and build relationships to provide excellent service and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Leverage sales skills to offer products and services from AAA to members during service interactions.
  • Utilize on-board computer, radio communications, and mapping systems to navigate and complete tasks effectively.
  • Complete daily paperwork, including call-logs, battery invoices, and cash receipts.

Requirements:

  • Two years of experience in a customer contact role.
  • Clear and proficient verbal and written communication skills, even under pressure.
  • Knowledge of vehicle components and common reasons for vehicle failure.
  • Ability to drive a manual/automatic shift vehicle.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Vocational technical automotive training/certification or equivalent experience.
  • ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification.

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

Works outdoors at vehicle sites, lifting and carrying tires and parts, weighing up to 50 pounds, several times a day. Works in all weather and all traffic conditions.
