Job Overview

Primus Metals Inc. is a leading manufacturer of high-tolerance, complex geometry parts for the aerospace industry. Our company specializes in producing machined components from standard and exotic metals, working directly with major aerospace manufacturers such as Boeing, Lockheed, and Northrop.

The Quality Inspector performs inspections of product against customer requirements and according to internal procedures, ensuring the timely flow of product and minimizing escapes and other non-conforming materials.

Responsibilities
  • Perform First Piece, Lot and Final Inspections against customer requirements
  • Conduct in-depth review and interpret acceptance criteria in accordance with customer purchase order & specifications, including industry standards
  • Command of problem-solving techniques such as 8D, Fish-Bone, 5-why & facilitate Team Based Root Cause Corrective Action(s)
  • Responsible for assuring that assigned activities are performed in accordance with their Quality Management System
  • Create, revise and optimize offline and online CMM/SmartScope programs and reports to reflect customer print specification requirements
  • Create CMM/SmartScope set up and operational instruction to part/machine specific
  • Analyze and interpret CMM/SmartScope reports to determine adherence to customer prints, specifications
  • Define detailed in-process & final inspection plans
  • Audit in process inspection reports/checklist on the production floor
  • Perform and fill out AS9102 First Article Inspections and Inspection Reports
  • Compile and confirm the accuracy of customer required shipment paperwork
  • Understand and follow internal inspection procedures and maintain inspection records
  • Understand and maintain the ERP system per company policies
  • Keep current with industry inspection techniques, practices and required standards
  • Understand and stay current with industry standard inspection equipment; including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, indicators, etc. and the calibration and maintenance of these instruments
  • Understand and stay current with GD&T standards, terminology and inspection methodologies
  • Be willing to perform other duties as assigned (Calibration, Audits, CAPA, Customer Complaints, RMAs, etc.)
Requirements
  • CMM/SmartScope software experience
  • Experience with Calypso software is required
  • Working knowledge of Special Processes such as but not limited to; NDT, Organic/Inorganic Coatings, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of Coordinate Measurement Systems
  • Minimum of 3-5 years practical experience running Coordinate Measuring Machines; experience with Optical Gaging Products a plus
  • Thorough knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Time Management
  • Willingness to work overtime when necessary
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering Degree (Preferred)

Salary Range: $22.00 - $32.00/hour, depending on experience.
