Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Orthopedic Technician II to join our team at Sutter Health. As an Orthopedic Technician II, you will play a critical role in providing support to physicians and other healthcare providers in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of injury or disease.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follows clearly defined orthopedic procedures to provide support to physicians and other healthcare providers.
  • Integrates education, technical competence, and patient interaction skills to gain confidence and cooperation from patients, their families, and other healthcare providers.
  • Documents and assists patients' progress throughout their plan of care.
  • Supports the functionality of the department by distributing supplies and performing equipment maintenance and setup as needed.
  • Adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure privacy and safety in delivering optimal patient care.

Requirements:

  • HS Diploma: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE: BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider, ORTHO-Orthopedic Technician certification, OR Graduate of an orthopedic technician college, OR Military training as an orthopedic technician, OR equivalent experience
  • TYPICAL EXPERIENCE: 1 year of recent relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • General knowledge of orthopedic principles, procedures, views, and equipment
  • Ability to interpret a variety of data and instructions, furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
  • Written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences
  • Well-developed time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadlines
  • General knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
