OU Health is seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Scientist to join our Virology Lab team. As a Laboratory Scientist, you will be responsible for performing routine standardized clinical diagnostic tests in a medical laboratory.
Key Responsibilities- Test Performance: Conduct hematologic, chemical, microscopic, morphologic, immunologic, and microbiologic patient testing in a prompt and reliable manner, adhering to established hospital and departmental policies.
- Lab Section Support: May work in various lab sections, including Core Lab, Blood Bank, Microbiology, or Virology, and participate in performance improvement activities to support the hospital's accreditation standards.
- Methodology Development: Set up new methodologies and develop procedural protocols to ensure efficient and accurate testing.
- Collaboration and Communication: Establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure seamless laboratory operations.
- Education: Bachelor of Science Degree or Graduate of MLT program.
- Experience: None required.
- Certifications/Licenses: None required.
- Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of laboratory principles and techniques, chemistry, hematology, microbiology, transfusion medicine, and related laboratory specialties. Ability to perform clinical laboratory work independently and establish effective working relationships.
