As a Medical Laboratory Scientist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results, which are critical to patient diagnosis and treatment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a wide range of laboratory tests, from simple blood tests to complex analyses, to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of patients.
- Interpret test results and communicate findings to physicians, escalating unusual or critical results as necessary.
- Operate complex electronic equipment, computers, and precision instruments, maintaining accuracy and performing quality control procedures.
- Assist providers in selecting appropriate laboratory tests and evaluate new testing methods.
- Maintain competencies and continuing education to stay current with developments in the field.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience and education.
- No experience required, but relevant experience is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
- Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near and far, and to identify and distinguish colors.
- Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication.
