About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Distinguished Engineer Director to lead our Card Core Data Architecture team. As a key member of our engineering organization, you will be responsible for architecting and delivering data systems and platforms that drive business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Articulate and evangelize a bold technical vision for data architecture
  • Decompose complex problems into practical and operational solutions
  • Ensure the quality of technical design and implementation
  • Serve as an authoritative expert on non-functional system characteristics
  • Continue learning and injecting advanced technical knowledge into our community
  • Handle several projects simultaneously, balancing time to maximize impact
  • Act as a role model and mentor within the tech community

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 7 years of data architecture or enterprise architecture experience
  • At least 5 years of database management, Data Lake or data warehouse experience
  • At least 5 years of public cloud experience (AWS, Microsoft, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • At least 2 years of experience building real-time data products and data streaming applications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • 3+ years of architecting experience with AWS components
  • 3+ years of experience with Big Data components
  • 7+ years experience architecting and delivering data systems or platforms
  • 7+ years of data governance, data access, data quality, data lineage, data monitoring, and data security controls experience
  • 5+ years of experience developing applications on Python, Java, Scala or SQL
  • 3+ years of experience in building highly resilient distributed data systems
  • 3+ years in data engineering including experience in distributed data pipelines
