Human Resources Assistant

The Human Resources Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the HR department at Wauseon Machine / McAlister Design and Automation. This position is responsible for providing administrative assistance, maintaining employee records, and assisting with recruitment activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative assistance to the HR team, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and participating in special projects and initiatives.
  • Employee Records Management: Ensure accurate and up-to-date employee records by uploading and filing documents in the proper location.
  • Recruitment Assistance: Assist in the recruitment process by posting job openings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and booking travel accommodations.
  • Onboarding and Offboarding: Coordinate new hire orientation, prepare onboarding materials, and ensure all employment paperwork is complete and filed properly. Support the offboarding process by collecting company property and preparing documents needed for exit interviews.
  • Employee Relations: Maintain a positive relationship with employees and serve as a point of contact for inquiries. Coordinate employee engagement activities and events.
  • HR Reporting: Compile data and prepare reports related to HR metrics, such as turnover rates, recruitment statistics, and budget/expenditure.
Requirements:
  • Education: Associate degree in human resources or a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Experience: HRIS (Human Resources Information System) and ATS (Applicant Tracking System) experience is a plus, preferably in UKG.
  • Personal Qualities: Capable of working independently and taking ownership of tasks while maintaining a collaborative team player mindset. Flexibility and willingness to extend work hours as needed to support off-shift employees or accommodate peak workloads.
