About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Associate General Counsel II to join our Product Counsel team. As a key member of our legal division, you will provide strategic legal leadership to our U.S. business segment's multi-disciplinary, transformational efforts and Product Management function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic legal leadership to ensure solutions are delivered in a way that provides an ideal experience for clients, branch teams, and colleagues, while meeting legal and regulatory obligations and mitigating risk.
  • Understand and interpret laws, rules, and regulations affecting the Firm's business.
  • Proactively spot legal, regulatory, and business risks, and coordinate with subject matter experts to ensure business leaders understand those risks while meeting business objectives.
  • Navigate complex issues and partner with peers and leaders within and outside the Legal Division to connect dots across initiatives, advise on impacts to the Firm, and develop best practices for executing on the Firm's plan.
  • Effectively communicate and share information across the Firm and Legal Division.
  • Manage a workload that is large, diverse, and complex.
Requirements
  • Juris Doctorate with exceptional academic credentials required.
  • Securities/Financial industry experience or experience in a highly regulated industry is required.
  • License to practice law in Missouri or an equivalent state.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive responsibility as an attorney in private practice, in the public sector (including with a regulator) or in an in-house counsel capacity.
  • Technological aptitude and ability to learn new technologies.
