Leadership and Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis Expert

We are seeking a dynamic and ambitious leader to join our team at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to lead small teams in the evaluation of precision strike and/or air combat system effectiveness using advanced mission-level analysis tools.


About the Role
  • Lead small teams in the evaluation of precision strike and/or air combat system effectiveness using advanced mission-level analysis tools.
  • Provide technical thought leadership and task management to ensure high-quality, insightful, and timely analysis.
  • Engage in independent research projects that encourage creative solutions and reward initiative.

We are a large team of 40+ engineers, physicists, mathematicians, and computer scientists who perform mission-level analysis to drive acquisition decisions on important precision strike technologies.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Physics, Math, Computer Science, or Engineering, or a related area.
  • Demonstrated excellence in performing and leading mission-level modeling, simulation & analysis.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: air vehicle survivability analysis, electronic warfare analysis, simulation development, planning concept of operations, and end-to-end kill-chain analysis.
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative environment and communicate sophisticated ideas directly with government civilians, military officers, and other contractors.
  • Skilled in conducting quantitative analysis, rapidly learning new and exciting concepts.
  • Ability to obtain Secret level security clearance by start date and can ultimately obtain Top Secret level clearance.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's or PhD degree in Physics, Math, Computer Science, or Engineering, or a related area.
  • Experience using analysis tools like AFSIM, Brawler, Suppressor, JIMM, or EADSIM for conducting mission-level survivability and effectiveness analysis for combat aircraft and strike weapon systems.
  • Active Top-Secret security clearance.
