Job Overview

Position: Equipment Mechanic

Department: Service

Reports to: Service Manager or Service Location Manager

Supervises: None

Objective:

The Equipment Mechanic is tasked with the assembly and setup of various machinery sold by the dealership. This role includes conducting pre-delivery inspections and preparing equipment for customer delivery. Guidance may be provided by the Service Manager, Service Location Manager, Shop Foreman, or senior technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Service Manager and technicians to enhance departmental efficiency.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workshop, vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment.
  • Assist service technicians as required, including parts delivery.
  • Help service technicians with equipment repairs, servicing, and relocation.
  • Accountable for billable hours and assigned work orders.
  • Ensure thorough documentation of diagnostics and repairs on work orders, submitting information punctually.
  • Participate in Service EDUCATE Training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Operate and maintain necessary vehicles, tools, and equipment for job duties.
  • Keep a tidy work environment and perform tasks in an orderly manner.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while executing work assignments.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in operating vehicles, tools, and equipment relevant to machinery setup and pre-delivery processes.
  • Familiarity with basic computer operations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possession of an adequate toolset for job responsibilities (may be supplied by the dealership).
  • A valid driver's license is mandatory.
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent experience is required; an Associate's degree is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license is essential.
  • A forklift license is advantageous.
