Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Acute or Emergency Nurse Practitioner to join our team in the Emergency Department at NYU Grossman School of Medicine.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department, utilizing the nursing process and pertinent standards of care.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized plans of care.
  • Assess and diagnose patients' physical and emotional needs, and develop and implement therapeutic, corrective, and prescriptive measures.
  • Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to ensure timely and effective communication with family members, housestaff, and other disciplines.
  • Participate in the development and revision of interdisciplinary and nursing standards, patient and family education materials, and clinical studies.
Requirements:
  • Current registration as a Professional Nurse in New York and registration as a Nurse Practitioner in New York.
  • Master's Degree in Nursing.
  • Certification required by ANCC or Board Certification from other specialty organization that certifies Nurse Practitioners in a clinical area of practice.
  • BLS or ACLS, PALS, NRP Provider, and NALS per delineation of privileges.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least five years of clinical nursing practice in the care of the patient population served.
  • Ability to apply nursing process toward achievement of specific outcomes in an organized fashion, which addresses patient/family safety and satisfaction.
  • Previous experience as a nurse practitioner is preferred.
