Acute or Emergency Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled Acute or Emergency Nurse Practitioner to join our team in the Emergency Department at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and contribute to the development and implementation of clinical protocols and policies.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and emergency conditions.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Conduct thorough health histories, physical examinations, and psychosocial assessments to identify patient needs and develop effective care plans.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory and radiological studies, to inform patient care decisions.
- Prescribe medications and other treatments as necessary to manage patient conditions.
- Develop and implement educational programs for patients, families, and healthcare staff to promote health and wellness.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
- Master's degree in Nursing.
- Current registration as a Professional Nurse in New York and registration as a Nurse Practitioner in New York.
- Certification in a relevant specialty (e.g., Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Emergency Nurse Practitioner).
- At least five years of clinical nursing practice in the care of the patient population served.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
