Assistive Technology Specialist

Job Summary:
Elevance Health is seeking a highly skilled Assistive Technology Professional to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our special programs are equipped to take a "Technology First" approach to meeting members' needs through person-centered and customized technology solutions that align with their goals for autonomy and independence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify new and emerging technology to support members with disabilities.
- Analyze members' needs and assist them in selecting appropriate assistive technology to meet those needs and improve their quality of life.
- Engage with internal coordination teams to evaluate opportunities for assistive technology applications.
- Review members' person-centered support plans to identify opportunities for assistive technology integration that support their individual goals.
- Collaborate with members, housing specialists, and employment specialists to evaluate potential assistive technology applications that could have a positive impact on employment and community living outcomes.
- Remain current on new and emerging technology and identify resources and their applicability to members in need.
- Collaborate with the Provider Services organization to increase available assistive technology vendors/providers and recommend assistive technology vendor recruitment and equipment needs.
- Evaluate assistive technology requests to ensure they are appropriate and within budget.
- Provide provider initial and refresher training on assistive technology as needed to support coordination teams.
Requirements:
- BA/BS degree and minimum of 2 years experience in assessing and applying assistive technology for individuals or organizations or personal experience using assistive technology; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
- Assistive Technology Professional certification from Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of America (RESNA) preferred.
Work Environment:
Elevance Health operates in a Hybrid Workforce Strategy. Associates are required to work at an Elevance Health location at least once per week, and potentially several times per week. Specific requirements and expectations for time onsite will be discussed as part of the hiring process. Candidates must reside within 50 miles or 1-hour commute each way of a relevant Elevance Health location.
