De La Pena Eye Clinic is seeking a highly skilled Ophthalmic Assistant to join their team in Long Beach, CA. As a key member of the eye care team, you will work closely with providers to deliver exceptional patient care and support.

About the Opportunity

As an Ophthalmic Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, multispecialty eye care environment. You will be responsible for gathering historical medical information, taking measurements, and performing ancillary tests to assist the eye care provider in arriving at a diagnosis and prescribing treatment.

Responsibilities

  • Gather historical medical information from patients
  • Take measurements and perform ancillary tests
  • Assist the eye care provider in arriving at a diagnosis and prescribing treatment
  • Support patient services and documentation

Requirements

  • Bilingual English/Spanish required
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • One (1) or more years of experience in a customer service setting
  • Current BLS certification or ability to obtain prior to start
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computers, multi-line phones, and other office equipment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ophthalmology experience strongly preferred
  • Experience as a Medical Assistant
  • Experience with EMR
