The Ponca Tribe of Nebraska is seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team in providing primary care services to our community. As a Nurse Practitioner, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients across the lifespan, as well as educating patients and families on health and wellness.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patient status through health history interviews and chart reviews
- Diagnose and treat medical conditions, prescribe medications, and educate patients on health and wellness
- Work collaboratively with physicians and other clinicians to provide patient-centered care
- Develop and implement treatment plans, including surveillance over medical practices and emergency services
- Provide medical care and preventative services, including guidance on nutrition, common illnesses, and child growth and development
- Active and good standing APRN License
- Minimum of two years of clinical experience as a BSN-Registered Nurse
- Successful completion of National Certification Exam
- Unrestricted Federal DEA License
- Computer proficiency in electronic health records systems, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access programs
- Doctorate degree in Nursing
- One or more years of experience working with Native Americans or Native American organizations
- Knowledge and understanding of Public Law 93-638: Indian Self-Determination Education Assistance Act of 1975
The Ponca Tribe of Nebraska is an at-will employer. Preference will be given to Ponca Tribe of Nebraska members or members of a federally recognized tribe. However, all qualified individuals are eligible.
