Job Summary
The Teen Coordinator will support, coordinate, and implement teen programs and services at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania. This role will work closely with the Teen Program Managers, Directors, and Coordinators to plan, promote, coordinate, and implement teen programming. The Teen Coordinator will also support and implement mentoring programs, workforce development, and social-emotional learning programs, in addition to supporting recruitment efforts.

Responsibilities
Coordinate a broad range of programs for teens, including educational, physical fitness, social, recreational, and arts & crafts activities.
Provide broad oversight of program activities at BGCWPA's Clubhouses and program sites.
Plan, develop, oversee implementation, and supervise programs, and perform related administrative duties.
Emphasize Boys & Girls Club of America's priority outcomes of Academic Success, Good Character and Citizenship, and Healthy Lifestyles.
Implement the five key elements for positive youth development: a safe, positive environment, fun, supportive relationships, opportunities, and expectations, recognition, and high-yield learning activities, targeted programs, and regular attendance.
Support recruitment efforts to increase teen enrollment.
Take initiative to design and elevate programs.
Prepare accurate and complete statistical reports representing the activity and progress of programs.
Plan, organize, coordinate, and implement special events and fundraisers to support teen programs.
Respond to and attempt to resolve conflicts that may arise among members and/or staff in a calm and professional manner.
Build and maintain positive and professional relationships with youth and their families, as well as community leaders participating in the programs.
Use restorative practices and a trauma-informed approach to engage teens.
Demonstrate ability in working with young people, families, and community leaders.

Requirements
Minimum of 2 years of training in social services, education, or a related field, and a minimum of 1 year of work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization supporting the needs of youth.
High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's Degree and teaching certification or closely related field preferred.
Knowledge of positive youth development, with an ability to design learning strategies and programs to enhance knowledge, skills, and abilities for youth.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of mental health care services, trauma-informed care, and referral resources.
Excellent crisis intervention, interpersonal, conflict mediation, and communication skills.
Strong time management, organization, and project prioritization skills.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, staff, and outside agencies.
Advanced positive customer service skills needed.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
3 letters of Reference needed upon hiring.
Clearances Act 33, Act 34, Act 151, and NSOR letter.
Mandated Reporter Certification within 30 days of hire.
Attend CPR, Pediatric First Aid training.
Proficient in Google Suite.
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: lifting & carrying up to 50 pounds, pushing, any/or pulling, climbing to include steps, balancing, stooping, standing, sitting, kneeling, crawling, crouching, and significant fine-fingered dexterity. Ability to tolerate environmental conditions: air conditioning, heat, dust fumes, noise, close quarters, etc.
Perform all additional duties and tasks assigned by leadership/supervisors.

Certifications and Clearances
BGCPWA's highest priority is the safety of the youth we serve. CPR, Pediatric First Aid, Child Abuse Prevention, Criminal History, FBI Clearance, NSOR Certificate, PA Disclosure, PA Staff Health Assessment, TB Test, and Mandated Reporter certification required upon hire or within 6 months.
