Position Overview: The Lockheed Martin Aeronautics division is seeking an Aircraft Field Service Engineer (FSE) to contribute to our Aeronautics Field Sustainment (AFS) team. This role is pivotal in supporting the F-35 Program.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in Avionics and Mission Systems (MS) as well as Aircraft Vehicle Systems (VS). A solid understanding of Supportable Low Observable (SLO) structures is advantageous.

The FSE will serve as the primary technical liaison to the on-site USMC Customer, addressing issues that arise from maintenance and modification activities concerning the F-35 aircraft.


Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct troubleshooting and analysis of aircraft discrepancies.
• Participate in debriefings to facilitate quick identification of emerging issues requiring company intervention and reduce aircraft downtime.
• Document unusual operational and maintenance challenges to ensure company awareness and identify emerging failure trends.
• Initiate Action Requests (ARs) for unique operational problems that necessitate technical, procedural, or quality assurance actions. Provide on-site support to both company and customer personnel.
• Deliver training to customers.

Must be adept at collaborating with various levels of customer leadership and maintenance personnel, as well as Product Support Engineers and F-35 enterprise support teams.

Willingness to travel is essential; candidates must be prepared to deploy with customers, potentially to hazardous duty locations. Long-term deployments may be required. Compliance with US Department of Defense (DoD) mandated vaccinations may be necessary.

Applicants should possess strong oral and written communication skills, as this role involves significant interaction with customer personnel at all levels.

• Provide direct on-site support as requested by customer, site manager, or program management.
• Manage and track multiple engineering initiatives, providing periodic updates to customer and program management.
• Flexibility to work second shifts is required; selected candidates must be willing to work any shift as needed.
• Ability to obtain F-35 Special Program Access is mandatory.
• An Interim Secret Security Clearance is required prior to starting, with the ability to obtain a Final Secret Security Clearance. US Citizenship is a prerequisite. This position is based at a facility requiring special access.

Basic Qualifications:

The following Basic Qualifications are essential for consideration: 5th Generation Fighter Aircraft experience (F-35 or F-22)
Minimum of 5 years' experience with Avionics/Mission Systems (MS)
