Job Summary

JobRialto is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sterilization Specialist to join our team. As a Sterilization Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper decontamination, inspection, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Decontaminate surgical instruments according to manufacturer's instructions or advised by the department supervisor or manager.
  • Operate decontamination equipment to ensure effective removal of contaminants.
  • Inspect instruments after decontamination to ensure all items are clean, intact, functional, and accounted for.
  • Assemble trays in a manner that ensures device sterility and presents a tray that is easy for the end user to access for use.
  • Use count sheets to ensure trays are assembled accurately for all trays.
  • Interface with department tracking system for all functions of processing.
  • Package or containerize instruments sets according to manufacturer's guidelines and standards.
  • Load sterilizer carts in a way to ensure packaged items are not punctured or compromised.
  • Run daily sterilizer tests on all sterilizers and operate sterilizers according to manufacturer's instruction.
  • Document all load contents, interface load to tracking system, load cycle confirming correct parameters, monitor sterilizer to tracking system, and record all pertinent information.
  • Unload sterilizers ensuring items are not compromised and store in correct location according to tracking system storage locations.
Requirements:
  • High School Graduate or Equivalent Required.
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: CRCST, CBSPDT, CIS preferred.
  • Required Work Experience: 2+ years work experience in CSPD preferred.
