Key Responsibilities

The Speech Therapist in Home Health is accountable for assessing and evaluating patient care requirements related to speech and language disorders, as well as providing functional training in communication, swallowing, and cognitive challenges.

  • Deliver services within the professional scope defined by state regulations governing speech therapy, adhering to the care plan, and collaborating with other healthcare team members.
  • Assess the patient's functional level by utilizing diagnostic and prognostic assessments. Collaborate with the physician to develop the therapy care plan.
  • Facilitate effective communication for patients by articulating thoughts in alignment with their condition, adhering to accepted practice standards.
  • Educate the patient, their family, and/or caregivers, along with other healthcare team members, on aspects of speech therapy in which they can engage.

Required Qualifications

License Requirements

  • Must hold a current license in Speech Therapy within the state.
  • Valid CPR certification is required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and vehicle insurance, along with access to reliable transportation.
