Medical Assistant

As a Medical Assistant at Henry Ford Health System, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in our Hematology Oncology Department. Under the direct supervision of a provider and nursing leadership, you will perform a variety of administrative and clinical tasks to ensure the best possible experience for our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and escort patients to the exam room
Obtain medical histories and record vital signs
Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
Assist providers during exams and procedures
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills
Ability to perform clinical skills related to ambulatory patient care
Effective interpersonal and communication skills
EPIC experience preferred
Education/Experience:
Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with a clinical externship
One year of experience in clinical medical assisting within the past five years
Current professionally recognized Medical Assistant certification with five years of experience
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with one year of clinical experience
Military trained medical personnel with one year of clinical experience
Certifications/Licenses:
Current BLS-C upon hire or successful completion by end of orientation
