The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to serve as the Manager on Duty. This role is responsible for overseeing branch operations and administration, ensuring staff and members are in compliance with YMCA policies and practices, and responding to emergencies and member incidents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Open and/or close the facility following proper procedures.
  • Conduct facility walk-throughs during shifts to ensure safety and cleanliness standards are being maintained.
  • Support the Membership desk and Welcome Center, providing exceptional customer service to members.
  • Build relationships with members, fostering a positive and inclusive environment.
  • Respond to emergencies and incidents in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Positive attitude and previous experience working with diverse populations.
  • Demonstrated maturity, sound judgment, and decision-making skills.
  • Relevant knowledge and experience, especially in a supervisory and/or leadership capacity.
  • CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, AED, and Oxygen certification (preferred).
  • YMCA Lifeguarding or Red Cross Lifeguarding certification (must be obtained prior to hire).
  • Ability to pass Background and Reference checks.
