Job Title: Principal Human Factors Engineer

At ACIST Medical Systems, we are seeking a highly skilled Principal Human Factors Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for shaping the definition, design, and evaluation of our medical products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead human factors and usability engineering activities throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and validate user-centered solutions.
  • Develop the human machine interface of our devices to positively impact the safety and efficiency of clinicians and patients.
  • Study and identify key properties of user and patient workflows to design efficient interfaces.
  • Partner with marketing and clinical teams to ensure user and patient needs are met.
  • Develop and maintain documentation in accordance with our Quality Management System.
  • Mentor and guide junior human factors engineers.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Factors Engineering, Usability Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience, with 3-5 years in new product development and usability.
  • 3+ years of exposure to medical device quality systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in integrating human factors throughout the system engineering lifecycle.
  • Experience with software and hardware user interface design, risk assessment, and trade-off analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards related to human factors engineering in the medical device industry.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Graduate degree in Human Factors Engineering, Usability Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Board certification in Human Factors or Professional Ergonomics.
  • 5+ years of systems engineering experience.
