Job Overview

Core Responsibilities:

The Senior Financial Accountant is responsible for preparing and managing financial documentation to monitor the organization's assets, liabilities, income and expenses, tax obligations, and other financial activities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, organizational policies, and IRS regulations to provide an accurate representation of the Company's financial status.

Key Duties:

This role may encompass the following responsibilities:

  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Support the month-end, quarter-end, and annual closing processes.
  • Assist with internal audits and JSOX review procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Controller on confidential corporate matters.
  • Collect pertinent data and prepare documentation for tax submissions across various jurisdictions.
  • Manage Sales tax filings for Louisiana and Texas.
  • Prepare and execute payroll for designated companies.
  • Handle payroll for expatriate employees.
  • Assist the Controller with corporate initiatives and matters as needed.
  • Serve as a resource and provide support to multiple departments interacting with the Corporate Accounting Team.
  • Propose enhancements to control processes.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting.

Experience:

· A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in chemicals or plastics.

Knowledge and Skills:

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Excel skills preferred.

· Familiarity with ERP systems; Great Plains experience preferred.

· Understanding of GAAP.

· Knowledge of IRS Tax Regulations.

· Awareness of JSOX compliance.

Additional Qualifications:

· Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

· Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.

· Strong organizational and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.

· Capability to convey financial and cost information clearly across the organization.

· Ability to work independently and efficiently.
