Position Overview

Metro Staffing Solutions is actively seeking SKILLED FORKLIFT AND/OR ELECTRIC PALLET JACK OPERATORS to join our workforce. Operators will be tasked with the essential duties of managing the loading and unloading of merchandise, establishing loading protocols, organizing orders, and verifying product accuracy during loading.

SHIFT: 2nd 6 PM - 3 AM Sunday through Thursday
COMPENSATION: $18 Hourly

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently load and unload delivery trucks while adhering to timelines.
  • Report any damaged or questionable products to management.
  • Complete loading or receiving operations in accordance with safety and quality standards.
  • Ensure all necessary daily distribution documentation is accurately filled out, including receiving logs and load sheets.
  • Safely operate forklifts and other material handling machinery.
  • Carry out routine sanitation tasks as per the sanitation schedule, including cleaning trailers.
  • Engage with the Shift Leader regarding safety, inventory levels, quality concerns, and daily operational challenges.
  • Collaborate with team members from other departments to ensure accurate product selection and loading.
  • Assist clients with will-call pickups as necessary.
  • Adhere to Safety, Sanitation, and HACCP policies & procedures, as well as federal, state, and local regulations (OSHA, FDA, DOL), alongside all company policies.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Essential Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Prior experience in loading and unloading trucks is advantageous.
  • Experience with advanced order picking systems is preferred.
  • Ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions in English is required.
  • Must possess the capability to operate forklifts and manual/electric pallet jacks safely.
  • Mathematical skills are necessary for this role.
