Position Summary:
The Production Process Engineering Manager is responsible for strategizing, overseeing, and coordinating the functions of maintenance, tooling, and engineering departments, ensuring seamless manufacturing operations throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruit, interview, onboard, and mentor new team members.
- Manage the daily operations of the department.
- Conduct timely and constructive performance assessments.
- Administer disciplinary actions and employee terminations in line with company policies.
Essential Duties:
- Work collaboratively with other manufacturing leaders to establish and evaluate priorities across teams.
- Analyze the cost-effectiveness and viability of manufacturing processes; implement recommendations to enhance efficiency and reduce expenses.
- Oversee tooling operations, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Guide and supervise the planning and execution of plant renovations and expansions; liaise with external contractors and vendors.
- Assist the Maintenance Supervisor and other leadership in managing maintenance department activities and responsibilities.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, including EPA and OSHA standards.
- Develop and manage the departmental budget.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Required Qualifications:
- Comprehensive knowledge of plant engineering, industrial engineering, and tooling.
- Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proven supervisory and leadership experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software for budget preparation and record-keeping.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in industrial management or equivalent experience in the manufacturing engineering sector is required.
- A minimum of five years of supervisory experience is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
