Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team at Needham Bank. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing maintenance repairs and overseeing general maintenance services at various locations. This role requires a high level of self-motivation, ability to work independently, and strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance repairs and oversee general maintenance services at various locations, responding to building-related issues and emergencies as needed.
  • Complete repairs such as patching/painting, installing locksets, closers, hinges, and exit door replacement, as well as general cabinetry repairs.
  • Conduct basic plumbing repairs, including toilet repairs/replacement, faucet repairs/replacement, and snaking clogged toilets/sinks.
  • Utilize our work order system to track and respond to incoming work orders.
  • Manage vendors and recommend improvements.
  • Inspect buildings to ensure they meet safety standards and create documents with emergency plans for the facility.
  • Manage preventive maintenance contracts for facility equipment, such as HVAC, elevators, and alarm systems.
  • Conduct basic electrical repairs, including replacing outlets, switches, light bulbs, and ballast replacement.
  • Ensure facilities are clean and assist with the setup of meeting rooms, including furniture, chairs, tables, easels, flip charts, and whiteboards.
  • Perform additional duties as requested, needed, or assigned.
Requirements
  • Working knowledge of maintenance and facilities operating procedures.
  • Highly self-motivated and able to work independently without close supervision.
  • Ability to troubleshoot facilities equipment and communicate possible solutions to supervisor.
  • Ability to effectively work with colleagues on multiple projects simultaneously, managing time and resources to ensure work is completed efficiently and within established timeframes.
  • Possess strong communication skills.
  • Demonstrates and promotes high ethical standards and behaviors.
  • Maintain a professional manner at all times.
  • Fluent in written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Valid Massachusetts Driver's License.
  • Ability to occasionally work nights and weekends.
  • Ability to adhere to Needham Bank's Core Values.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years working with commercial mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Deep knowledge of a variety of "handyman" skills in various disciplines, including plumbing, electrical, painting, and other maintenance and repair skills.
  • Basic computer skills desirable.
  • Valid Massachusetts Driver License and driving record.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
  • Able to use a six-foot ladder and lift up to 30lbs.
