Accounting & Tax Professionals, PLC is seeking an experienced Tax Return Specialist to join our team. We offer a competitive salary of $60,000 - $80,000 per year.

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Tax Return Specialist who can provide exceptional customer service and prepare accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax preparation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough interviews with clients to ensure all necessary information is collected.
  • Prepare tax returns ranging from simple to complex, identifying potential tax saving opportunities and deductions.
  • Research complex tax situations and provide accurate solutions.
  • Review accuracy of prior year tax returns and identify potential opportunities for improvement.
  • Break down tax returns for clients to ensure they understand their current results.
  • Work with accounting staff to complete books for business clients.
  • Assist with IRS and state tax audits.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and recognize opportunities for improving processes.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of verifiable tax preparation experience in a professional environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple clients concurrently.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with professional tax preparation software (we use Lacerte).
  • Experience with Xero, QuickBooks Desktop, or QuickBooks Online is a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
