About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Ryder. As a Senior Level Diesel Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting our Truck Fleet by performing routine maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including routine preventative maintenance and component inspections.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computer systems.
  • Identify root causes of failures and perform repairs as required.
  • Replace defective components and perform facility maintenance duties.
  • Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints and provide solutions.
  • Utilize Shop Management System and electronic documentation to track work and maintain records.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Vocational or technical certification, post-secondary degree, or technical certifications preferred.
  • Basic tools required.
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines.
  • Two (2) years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience in required experience.
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred.
  • Ability to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire.
What We Offer
  • Average weekly pay: $1167.
  • Hourly pay: $29.19 per hour.
  • Certification bonus of $100 for each new ASE certification obtained up to $700.
  • Quarterly bonus: Ryder pays up to $500 every quarter - four times per year.
  • Sign-on bonus: Ryder pays $1250 at 30 days and $1250 at 90 days.
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, weekends off.
  • Hours: Second shift, 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm.
