Mobile Diesel Mechanic II

Fleet Services by Cox Automotive is a leading provider of on-site mobile maintenance and repair services nationwide. We are currently hiring a Mobile Diesel Mechanic II to join our team.
Job Summary:The Mobile Diesel Mechanic II will be responsible for performing licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of diesel engines, transmissions, and electrical systems, as well as the ability to diagnose and repair complex issues.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and DOT inspections on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles
- Diagnose and repair complex issues with diesel engines, transmissions, and electrical systems
- Perform minor adjustments and repairs on various types of truck equipment
- Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions
- Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure they are working properly
- Manage parts inventory and equipment provided on company-issued service trucks
- Maintain and operate company-issued service vehicles
- Work with clients and customers to assess their needs and provide information or assistance
- High School Diploma/GED and 3 years experience in a related field
- Valid driver's license and DOT Medical Card
- Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties
- Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months
- ASE T3 (Drivetrain) certification
- ASE T4 (Brakes) certification
- ASE T5 (Suspension) certification
- ASE T6 (Electrical and Electronic Systems) certification
- ASE 608/609 certification
- $25.29-$37.98 hourly depending on experience and location
