Welding Technology Faculty Member

The Tennessee Board of Regents is seeking a qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach in the Welding Technology program. The successful candidate will provide instruction to students in all areas of the training program to prepare them for entry into welding industry careers.
Key Responsibilities- Teaching and Instruction: Teach students through lectures, demonstrations, and/or audio visual aids.
- Course Development: Prepare syllabi of courses of study with detailed lesson plans.
- Student Assessment and Evaluation: Monitor, grade, and evaluate students' progress; develop and maintain effective student assessment practices and grading processes.
- Record Keeping: Maintain appropriate student records and submit timely reports.
- Professional Development: Attend workshops and/or other training programs to remain current in the industry.
- Environment and Safety: Maintain a clean and safe environment for student learning.
- Supply and Equipment Management: Source and request needed instructional supplies and equipment necessary for proper student instruction.
- Industry Partnerships: Develop and maintain strong industry partnerships to enhance the students' learning experience.
- Program Recruitment and Placement: Assist in program recruitment and assist certified graduates with placement opportunities.
- Accreditation and Compliance: Maintain required annual 60% completion, 70% placement, and 70% licensure rate pursuant to the Council on Occupational Education (COE) accreditation standards.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all TBR, institutional, state, and federal requirements.
The successful candidate must possess a post-secondary diploma or certificate from an accredited technical training program in the welding field, as well as three (3) years' experience in the welding field within the last five (5) years.
Preferred QualificationsAWS or other industry-recognized certification, teaching experience, and organizational and communication skills necessary to be an effective teacher are preferred qualifications.
Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesThe successful candidate must possess computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office applications), indication of willingness to establish and maintain positive working relationships with students, staff, and business/industry personnel, commitment to remaining current with industry practices through professional development activities, and ability to travel and/or work after school activities such as graduation, in-service, etc.
Salary and BenefitsThe salary for this position is commensurate with Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology and Tennessee Board of Regents salary guidelines.
