The Senior Account Manager serves as the primary liaison for some of 919's most significant clients. This role encompasses the establishment, execution, and enhancement of marketing initiatives in partnership with various internal teams. The ideal candidate excels in managing client expectations through proactive communication, effective project management, and strategic recommendations. This position plays a crucial role in the team, assisting the Account Supervisor with strategic projects, mentoring junior staff, and exemplifying outstanding account management practices. Expectations
- Act as the primary contact for high-profile clients, overseeing multiple intricate client relationships concurrently.
- Serve as the subject matter expert in the client's sector, providing insights on the most effective campaign strategies.
- Take full responsibility for all client communications, ensuring tasks are completed, expectations are realistic, and schedules are adhered to. The Senior Account Manager will manage multi-brand, multi-service clients with substantial monthly retainers.
- Organize, prepare, and distribute client meeting agendas, delivering and presenting conference reports.
- Lead client meetings and provide strategic recommendations, with support from the designated Account Supervisor when necessary.
- Facilitate communication between clients and internal teams, utilizing the internal project management system to assign tasks and ensure accountability.
- Develop and analyze dashboards and scorecards, reviewing client performance metrics to offer insights into marketing strategies, results, and future actions.
- Prepare comprehensive reports (documents, presentations, etc.) that effectively communicate data-driven narratives and key highlights to client leadership.
- Ensure quality control by verifying that tasks are completed accurately and meet both client and agency standards.
- Continuously monitor client KPIs to ensure successful outcomes and high-quality results.
- Complete progress reports for the Account Supervisor, Directors, and clients.
- Manage and track substantial budgets, informing internal teams and communicating strategic budget adjustments.
- Identify innovative approaches to enhance client campaign results.
- Assist the Account Supervisor in recognizing upsell opportunities for clients, creating and maintaining account plans that focus on high-growth prospects and target accounts.
- Travel to client meetings and conferences as necessary.
- Act as a mentor to junior employees and interns, fostering teamwork and collaboration.
- Stay updated on marketing trends, engage with internal experts, and enhance knowledge of 919's products and services (digital, PR, SEO, etc.).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or business administration is highly preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in marketing, project management, or customer service within the marketing sector.
- Experience in an agency setting is highly preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
- Exceptional task management abilities, capable of handling multiple large brand client relationships across various industries.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently while holding cross-functional team members accountable.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey information effectively both internally and externally; serve as a role model for junior staff in proactive and organized communication.
- Ability to present insights, explanations, and recommendations clearly through various communication channels.
- Adaptability to thrive in a dynamic digital environment.
- A collaborative team player who is highly motivated and solution-oriented, with a strategic mindset.
