Responsibilities:

  • Differentiate between normal and abnormal findings to recognize serious health concerns.
  • Provide direct medical assistance to patients experiencing illness or disability.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive health services, including immunizations and health education.
  • Work alongside physicians in managing complex medical cases.
  • Educate patients and their families on health maintenance and improvement strategies.
  • Offer preventive health guidance, including nutrition and child development.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Two years of relevant medical experience or equivalent training.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Current Physician Assistant license.
  • Must maintain a valid and unrestricted medical practice license.
  • Background checks and driving record assessments may be required.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license may be necessary.
  • Fluency in both Tohono O'odham language and English may be required based on departmental needs.
