Job Title: CT Technologist

Atrium Health Charlotte is seeking a skilled CT Technologist to join our team in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Job Summary

The CT Technologist will perform procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards, operating CT scanners and associated equipment with a high level of proficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Examine requests and verify orders on each assigned patient, referring and questioning orders to the Radiologist as needed.
  • Properly identify patients and assist them while offering a brief explanation of the procedures, preparing patients for the procedure with a full explanation and documenting on appropriate worksheets.
  • Interview patients for a complete medical history, reviewing in-patients, ER, and outpatients EMR's to obtain pertinent clinical history and recording medical history on requisitions.
  • Assume responsibility for the exam from beginning to completion, preparing and administering IV contrast according to departmental protocols and evaluating technical quality of images.
  • Perform basic patient care functions, informing appropriate nursing personnel of any changes in the patient's condition and initiating life support measures as needed.
  • Operate radiology computer system to enter orders and charge procedures/supplies, documenting contrast administration in the MAR.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited two-year AMA program in Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology.
  • ARRT certification in Radiology or NMTCB for Nuclear Medicine and advanced registry from the ARRT in CT scanning within one year of hire.
