Library Assistant

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Library Clerk. As a key member of our library staff, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service to our community.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to library patrons, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
• Process and maintain library materials, including checking in and out books, DVDs, and other materials.
• Assist with programming and events for children and adults, including setup, execution, and cleanup.
• Perform administrative tasks, such as answering phones, responding to emails, and maintaining records.
• Collaborate with library staff to achieve departmental goals and objectives.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in library science or related field preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with strong organizational and time management skills.
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and library software.
